Recycling of electrical and electronic wastes containing flame retardants

This project assessed the compatibility of flame retardants with the valorisation of waste electrical and electronic goods (WEEE) in a commercially operating, integrated metals smelter and refining facility. This study was carried out at the Umicore integrated metal smelter and refinery, Hoboken, near Antwerp, Belgium in cooperation with PlasticsEurope representing the European plastics manufacturing industry.
